Verification of Ukrainian qualified electronic signature on documents abroad
The validity of an electronic signature affixed to an electronic document may be verified, where required within the EU, on the website of the Central Certification Authority or on the ID.GOV.UA website at the following links: https://czo.gov.ua/verify, https://id.gov.ua/verify (hereinafter – the Verification Tool).
In accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, as well as Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 (eIDAS) governing electronic signatures within the EU, the presence of a barcode, QR code, or any other graphical mark shall not constitute confirmation that the electronic document has been signed with a qualified electronic signature.
The confirmation of the validity of an electronic signature is performed through its technical verification using the Verification Tool.
When performing verification, it is necessary to distinguish between signatures that are contained in the same file as the data (a single file with the .p7s or .zip extension) and those contained in separate files (one — the original file, and the other — the qualified electronic signature file with the .p7s extension). In the latter case, the service will also request the original file for verification.
When verifying documents where the signature is contained within the same file, you should upload the file with the .p7s or .zip extension.
When verifying documents where the signature is contained in a separate file, you should upload both the file with the .p7s extension and the original file.
In addition, an electronic document does not have an expiration period.
